Free Get Fishing Sessions
Sporting Lyme is a summer-long festival, celebrating and showcasing the many sports organisations in and around Lyme Regis, organised by Lyme Regis Town Council. The inaugural Sporting Lyme takes place from May to September 2026.
In addition to their normal activities, almost 30 sporting organisations will hold special events and open days to promote themselves, encourage people to get involved and try new sports, and improve health and wellbeing.
LRSAC is thrilled to be part of this festival! Whether fishing sounds like something you'd like to try or is something you've been considering for a while, we hope you join us for one of our free sessions. Supported by Angling Trust Coaches, you'll learn about the different types of fishing and we can help you decide what seems like a great fit for you. We'll go through the basic set-up, bait/lures and casting. Then we can give you more information about your next steps. Whether you want to join us or go it alone, we just want everyone to discover the joy of fishing!
Adult Sessions

Our adult sessions will give you a good understanding of the basics of Shore Fishing. We will cover the initial set up, rigging up, bait presentation & casting. We will also have a dedicated Lure Coach for anyone wishing to target those predatory species such as Mackerel and Bass.
All equipment is provided, so come along and have a go!
Spaces are limited, so please book your space below - we also then have your contact details in case of any changes due to adverse weather.
Both sessions are being held on Monmouth Beach - just look out for the flags!
Junior Sessions

Our junior sessions aim to be fun & informative. Young people will need a grown up with them, but learning together is all part of the fun! We'll be fishing from the harbour walls where we will be targeting lots of different mini species & hipefully some Mackerel and maybe some bigger species too.
